The goal of this workshop is to provide attendees with a unique opportunity to explore the latest advancements in the field of sleep research. You will hear about the fascinating world where sleep disturbances intersect with dementia and explore cutting-edge screening and treatment strategies. Discover how various forms of sleep deprivation, from total sleep loss to self-selected short sleep, shape our ability to make decisions. Learning Objectives
As a result of attending this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the link between sleep-wake disturbance, neuropsychological performance and biomarkers of neurodegeneration.
2. List the effects of sleep loss on aspects of decision making common to many types of decisions.
3. Identify the neurobiological mechanisms and brain imaging evidence underlying the cognitive effects of sleep loss.
