Description
Rates of ADHD in adults are increasing, presenting clinicians with challenges regarding how to assess, diagnose, and treat this population. In this two-part series, participants will learn what to look for and how to measure ADHD in young adults, as well as practical interventions to improve functional living beyond the initial assessment. The focus of both presentations will be on the relationship between executive skills and ADHD in assessment and treatment. In Part 1 of this series, participants will be given a framework for understanding how executive skills impact adult behavior and performance, and will learn a protocol for assessing ADHD in young adults.
After the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe how executive skills impact behavior and performance in a general adult population.
- Explain the key role executive skills play in understanding adults with ADHD.
- Assess clients’ profiles of executive skill strengths and weaknesses to assist in making an accurate diagnosis and to develop an appropriate treatment plan.
Target Audience: Psychologists and mental health professionals who diagnose and treat ADHD in adults.
Instructional Level: Intermediate
